Virtual Run FAQs

HOW DOES A VIRTUAL RUN WORK?

-Track your run with a virtual fitness tracker (Fitbit, Strava, Runkeeper, etc.)

-Complete the virtual 13.1-mile race (Half Marathon) or 26.2-mile race (Full marathon) by November 8, 2020 and submit proof through the Virtual Run Submission Link by November 30, 2020.

How do I submit proof? Fill out the form Virtual Run Submission Link  Take a screenshot or a picture of your run results from your fitness tracker!

-Receive your FINISHER'S MEDAL and 2020 OC Marathon shirt in the mail! If you completed The Beach Cities Challenge, the Combo Crush, or became a Legacy Runner, you'll be awarded for those as well!

WHEN IS THE DEADLINE?

You can plan a run any time before November 8, 2020.

WHERE DO I RUN?

Participants choose their own race course. We ask that you do not run on the roads of the event courses, as they are much different on event weekend due to closures and police assistance with traffic. Should you choose to run a similar course to the actual, you must obey all laws and traffic signals and stay on sidewalks as there will be no police assistance. We also ask that you do not run in groups, per the CDC recommendations during social distancing times.

IS A VIRTUAL RUN ELIGIBLE FOR THE BEACH CITIES CHALLENGE?

Yes. If you run the Virtual OC Marathon or Half Marathon in 2020, you will maintain your Beach Cities Challenge status. If the OC is your final race in the series, we will include the Beach Cities medal in your shipment.

WHAT WILL I RECEIVE FOR COMPLETING A VIRTUAL RACE?

You will receive a finisher's medal, runner's bib, and the event t-shirt. All materials will be mailed to you. You will also receive a unique code for a 25% discount to any of the 2021 SDCCU OC Running Festival Events.
