Celebrating its 45th anniversary, Human Options has provided healing and empowerment for survivors affected by relationship violence in Orange County. Founded by four passionate women, the organization has since impacted over 500,000 lives, working to ensure that people can feel safe in their own homes. Today, Human Options leads a county-wide response to ending the cycle of relationship violence, offering life-saving services to survivors and their families.

At the core of their mission is the belief that everyone deserves to experience safe, healthy relationships and live free from fear. Human Options works to make relationship violence everyone’s concern by lifting up survivor voices to illuminate their experiences, deepen the community’s understanding of relationship violence, and break the generational cycle of violence by preventing abuse before it begins. They co-create solutions with survivors, advocating for those affected by abuse, and provide support services that empower survivors to reclaim their lives. By offering safety and crucial resources for survivors and their families, they enable healing and help those impacted by relationship violence advance towards a brighter future. Notably, 90% of survivors who completed their program have moved forward towards safety and healing, showcasing the organization’s profound impact on those they serve.

In the aftermath of abuse, survivors can access a full range of services to meet their unique needs, including mental health, housing, community-based services, and legal advocacy. But in addition to providing support in the immediate aftermath of abuse, Human Options is committed to offering long-term recovery and community healing. They actively raise awareness about relationship violence and work tirelessly to ensure that everyone in Orange County experiences healthy, safe relationships, free from fear.
