Uplifting Orange County’s Youth & Families: The Rooster’s Foundation

We are thrilled to welcome The Rooster’s Foundation as one of our 2025 Hoag OC Marathon charity partners! For over 45 years, Rooster’s Foundation has been dedicated to supporting at-risk children in our Orange County community. Founded in 1977, this nonprofit has brought together individuals who all share the same mission: to facilitate and encourage lifelong friendships while performing charitable works on behalf of children in need. 

 

The Rooster’s Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that raises hundreds of thousands of dollars annually to support smaller, local nonprofits–many of which do not receive national or government funding. In 2024 alone, Rooster’s proudly awarded over $100,000 in grants to organizations such as Advance to College, Hope Harbor, Family Promise, and Stand Up for Kids, among others, helping to equip young people with the tools, resources, and support they need to thrive.

 

Beyond financial grants, The Rooster’s Foundation is deeply committed to fighting food insecurity in Orange County. Since 1995, their holiday food programs have fed more than 340,000 people, and their recent partnership with Bracken’s Kitchen continues this legacy–providing thousands of ready-to-heat meals each year for families in need. In 2022, their Annual Holiday Food Boxing event brought together members and volunteers to assemble 1,000 food boxes–each filled with 19 nutritious items and distributed to local charities like H.O.P.E., Miracles for kids, and the Boys & Girls Club of Tustin.

 

We encourage all Rooster’s Foundation members to get involved in this exciting event! Whether you sign up to walk or run for the Rooster’s Foundation, or volunteer your time during race weekend, your support makes a big difference. We hope to see you out there with us on race weekend!

Runner Rebate Program

We’re excited to offer the Runner Rebate Program, giving you the opportunity to make your miles even more meaningful. Runners who commit to fundraising for The Rooster’s Foundation can earn a full refund of their registration fee by reaching the specified fundraising goals! Here’s how you can get involved:

  • For the 5K, raise $150 and receive a 100% refund of your registration fees.
  • For the half marathon, raise $350 and get a 100% refund of your registration fees.
  • For the full marathon, raise $500 and you’ll receive a 100% refund of your registration fees.
  • For the 5K/Half Combo Crush, raise $650 and receive a 100% refund of your registration fees.
  • For the 5K/Full Combo Crush, raise $750 and receive a 100% refund of your registration fees.

By meeting these fundraising goals, not only do you get to run for free, but you also help change the lives of vulnerable children right here in our community.
