Skate Like A Girl: Building Bridges, Not Barriers - OC Marathon | OC Half Marathon & 5k

We are excited to announce that Skate Like A Girl is back again as an official charity partner for the 2025 OC Marathon! They are a unique nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering skaters, particularly young women and trans individuals, to grow into strong, confident leaders who advocate for social equity. Since its founding in 2000, the organization has been on a mission to create an inclusive community by promoting confidence, leadership, and social justice through the power of skateboarding.

With active chapters in Seattle, Portland, and the San Francisco Bay Area, Skate Like A Girl serves thousands of individuals annually, offering a variety of impactful programs and events that have made a lasting difference in their communities.

Skate Like A Girl offers a wide range of programs, including summer camps, weekly skate sessions, and special events, all designed to emphasize hands-on learning and community engagement. These programs provide youth with opportunities to develop their skateboarding skills while simultaneously building confidence and leadership skills. But the impact goes beyond skateboarding. Skate Like a Girl is breaking down stereotypes in a sport often seen as exclusive and male-dominated. They are creating welcoming spaces where everyone, regardless of gender or background, can come together to learn, grow, and thrive.

Runner Rebate Program

We’re excited to offer the Runner Rebate Program, designed to help you make an even bigger impact with your support of Skate Like A Girl. Runners who commit to fundraising for this charity have the opportunity to earn a full refund of their registration fee by reaching specific fundraising goals! Here’s how it works:

For the 5K, raise $150 and receive a 100% refund of your registration fees.
For the half marathon, raise $350 and get a 100% refund of your registration fees.
For the full marathon, raise $500 and you’ll receive a 100% refund of your registration fees.
For the 5K/Half Combo Crush, raise $650 and receive a 100% refund of your registration fees.
For the 5K/Full Combo Crush, raise $750 and receive a 100% refund of your registration fees.

By reaching these fundraising goals, you’ll run for free and help make a positive impact on skaters, particularly young women and trans individuals, through Skate Like A Girl’s initiatives.
