WISEPlace Joins the OC Marathon to End Homelessness for Unaccompanied Women

The OC Marathon is proud to announce WISEPlace as one of our charity partners for this year’s race. As the only Orange County-based nonprofit focused exclusively on ending homelessness for unaccompanied women, WISEPlace provides a vital lifeline through safe shelter, mental health services, addiction recovery, case management, and employment assistance.

Supporting the Most Vulnerable Women in Our Community

The women WISEPlace serves face unique challenges. Without the support of a spouse, partner, or family, they are often left to navigate homelessness alone. 26% of these women are disabled or have chronic health conditions, and last year, every single woman served had experienced domestic violence, nearly half of them actively fleeing. With incomes well below the poverty line, these factors significantly increase their risk of becoming homeless.

WISEPlace doesn’t just offer temporary shelter—it provides women with the tools to transform their lives. Through individualized counseling, job placement programs, and recovery services, WISEPlace empowers women to regain their independence and rebuild their futures.

The Runner Rebate Program

We’re excited to offer the Runner Rebate Program for those fundraising for WISEPlace. Runners who meet the following fundraising goals will receive a 100% rebate on their race registration fees:

• Raise $150 for the 5K
• Raise $350 for the half marathon
• Raise $500 for the full marathon

By reaching these fundraising milestones, you can earn your registration fee back while also playing a crucial role in supporting WISEPlace’s efforts to end homelessness for women.
