About Hoag Hospital

The Hoag Hospital Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Hoag, is an integral partner in Hoag’s vision. 

Thanks to the generosity of Hoag’s philanthropic community, Hoag’s commitment to being a leader in health care isn’t just an idea; it’s a reality. Donor support enables us to take bold steps forward to increase access to Hoag’s expert care for more and more communities throughout Orange County.  In 2022, Hoag launched the Boldly Hoag campaign to support the ambitious expansion of Hoag’s Sun Family Campus on Sand Canyon Avenue in Irvine and design what comes next for our patients, our staff, our community, and health care more broadly. 

Melinda Hoag Smith, whose family founded the hospital, explained “Hoag Hospital was founded by my family for a very important reason: They loved Orange County and those who call it home. My parents and grandparents would be so proud to see what Hoag has achieved and what it will continue to achieve as a result of its bold pledge to build and deliver an innovative health care system that is designed for all county residents, at all stages of their lives.”
